We are living in strange times no matter where you are.

While we are yet to understand the full impact of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, it is important to keep up-to-date with all the advice from governing bodies.

Protecting the health and wellbeing or our people, our teams, our customers and partners will always be our overriding priority here at Grinders.

All our manufacturing operations remain open. To ensure we continue to service our customers and keep our people safe, we have already commenced several precautionary measures – these include additional procedures and restrictions for all site visitors, additional hygiene and sanitisation routines in all facilities, altered work processes and shift routines to minimise risk and meet demand.

We are seeing many businesses in the service industry temporarily close as this health crisis continues.

Kiwi cafes have advised that their traffic patterns have changed dramatically after the sudden shift to work from home.

But through all of this, we have also seen a strong resilience come from the hospitality industry with many finding ways to remain open and adapt.

They have adopted a positive, can-do attitude all while keeping their valued employees in mind.

We are seeing cafes finding innovative ways to continue to operate.

What we observed so far is many cafes have begun to go cashless, as well as introducing delivery options and ramping up their communications with customers via social media.

Others have also introduced strict hygiene measures around the use of keep cups, separating tables to increase physical distancing. With now the new regulations in place.

Grinders aim to continue to provide support where possible, to the needs of individual businesses.

The industry has no doubt felt the effects collectively, but their high spirits have been inspiring and encouraging on all fronts.
